Anton Darby
Local boy, Anton Darby, is another one of our original presenters (since 1976!) He did a bit of a stint (30 years) in TV as a production guru, but Radio Victory was always close to his heart! Now with his revamped show from the 80s and the same unflappable, relaxed personality, you are guaranteed to have a smooth, chilled out Sunday afternoon…exactly how a Sunday afternoon should be!
Anton was born in Horndean and grew up in Petersfield. At the age of 17, he attended Drama School in London, which was followed by a busy acting career in Theatre and TV.
He joined Radio Victory at the outset in 1976 and presented daily programmes for nine years. On leaving, he moved into TV Production as a Stage Manager for Yorkshire Television, working on many shows including ‘ The Darling Buds of May’ with David Jason.
As Assistant Director he has continued to work closely with Sir David on every project in the UK and abroad, for the past thirty years.
Anton is delighted to be back at Victory. He says, “The Station and its listeners have always been like family to me, and I’m so excited for it to continue.”
